Stellantis to lay off 1,000 workers
Stellantis, the parent company of Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram, has announced plans to lay off 1,000 workers indefinitely at its Toledo South Jeep Assembly Plant in Ohio, as well as a reduction of its inventory levels to respond to lower demand. The goal is to “realign its U.S. operations,” in a bid to better position itself over the coming year. Ford to halt production of F-150 Lightning EV
Ford will halt production of its F-150 Lightning electric vehicle (EV) pickup truck at its Dearborn facility for six weeks effective November 18 to adjust production to adapt to market conditions. This news follows a production cut that took place in April, bringing the model to one shift after temporarily cutting one of three shifts in October 2023. McDonald’s USA, Syngenta, and Lopez Foods working toward sustainable beef
A collaboration between McDonald’s USA, Syngenta North America, and Lopez Foods is seeking to reduce some of the environmental impacts of beef production. The restaurant chain is working with Syngenta, an ag-tech leader, and Lopez Foods, one of its long-term protein suppliers, coming together to improve feed efficiency to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas emissions released per pound of meat produced.
