Harbinger launches production of American-made, medium-duty EV

Harbinger, a medium-duty electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has officially announced start of production (SOP) for its American-made EVs, a production milestone that took four years to achieve. The company was founded in 2021.

The vehicle platform, a stripped chassis, is manufactured in Garden Grove, California and designed specifically for medium-duty applications like box trucks, recreational vehicles (RVs), vans, and more. The chassis includes all major vehicle systems including the electric drivetrain, high voltage (HV) battery system, steering, and brakes, among others. It is the only truck manufacturer building electric drivetrains in-house. After the chassis is assembled, dealers/customers can work with a third party to upfit them with a commercial or specialty body.

Part of Harbinger’s success is its vertical integration, which keeps production costs down and quality up. Its order book is impressive and will support the scaling of its operations beyond startup.
