Fast Company names Blackline Safety one of world’s most innovative companies

Blackline Safety, a technology leader driving innovation in the industrial workforce through IoT (Internet of Things), has been recognized as part of Fast Company’s prestigious list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies of 2025 for its innovative lifesaving technology that protects workers from workplace hazards.

The list recognizes companies that are creatively leveraging technology and innovation to make meaningful efforts to improve the safety and workflow of industrial environments, which Blackline achieves through its connected safety devices and predictive analytics tools that are used to improve workplace safety and productivity for tens of thousands of people in more than 75 countries. It has generated over 265 billion data points and initiated over eight million emergency alerts.

Blackline achieves this by transforming how organizations protect their workers. It helps the teams respond more quickly, preventing incidents and helping to inform decisions with real-time safety data from wearable devices, portable area monitors, and other cloud-based software solutions that enable live monitoring, automatic incident alerts, and location-based insights.

“We’re proud to be recognized by Fast Company for leading the transformation of workplace safety, helping organizations protect their people with smarter, more reliable solutions,” said Blackline Safety CEO and Chair, Cody Slater. “Every day, there are over 160,000 families around the world whose family member goes to work in a hazardous environment and comes home safe at the end of the day—thanks to their employer choosing Blackline.”

Blackline’s EXO 8 area monitor, specifically, is equipped with advanced gas and gamma detection in industrial and emergency response settings that are designed to support rapid deployment.
